Coffee once played a huge part in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) economy. Eastern DRC was called “a paradise for coffee.” Unfortunately, waves of political turmoil severely limited prosperity in the coffee sector and the economy of Congo. Today, coffee returns as several private and public sector actors invest in the country. We can only hope they will allow this reborn coffee industry to flourish once again -let’s hope they do; this coffee is delicious
