Evo Espresso Machine Cleaner

EVO is a backflush powder for traditional espresso machines. It dissolves fast and rinses clean, stripping the coffee oils and residue that build up in the group head and turn bitter in the cup. The formulation is non-corrosive, so it won't attack seals or metalwork with daily use. Phosphate-free, chlorine-free, non-GMO and rapidly biodegradable. Made in Australia by Cafetto.

DIRECTIONS

Daily backflush, per group:

1. Swap the coffee basket in your portafilter for a blind filter.
2. Add one level scoop of EVO (or one sachet) and lock the handle in as if brewing.
3. Run the cycle for 10 seconds, then stop for 10 seconds.
4. Repeat that run/stop cycle four more times.
5. Remove the handle and rinse it well under water from the group.
6. Re-insert with the blind filter and cycle 10 more times — 5 seconds on, 5 seconds off — to rinse thoroughly.
7. Swap the blind filter back for your regular basket.
8. Pull and discard one espresso to re-season the machine.

Soaking baskets and portafilters: two level scoops in 500ml of hot water, soak for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly under running hot water.
