Our commitment to sustainability extends to our packaging. Initially, we used BioPak's compostable coffee cups and lids, which have since evolved to be fully home compostable. We continue to use BioPak products and manage the composting of our coffee cups from our espresso bars through commercial composting.

Over time, we've transitioned to fully recyclable materials, with approximately 95% of our packaging now recyclable. We continue to explore new materials and technologies to further reduce our environmental impact.

In our pursuit of energy efficiency, we installed large solar panels on our warehouse roof. This initiative allows us to generate about 90% of our energy needs from solar power, making us nearly self-sufficient in our energy use. Given our daylight-only operations and the abundant sunshine in Byron and Ballina, this has been significant step toward reducing our carbon footprint.

We believe in the circular economy, which is why we recycle our coffee waste. All spent coffee grounds and coffee sacks are collected and donated to regeneration organizations working on bushland restoration. Additionally, we raise funds for Byron Youth Services by offering coffee sacks in exchange for a gold coin donation.

Responding to customer demand, we've introduced 100% compostable coffee pods, including the lid, made from plant-based materials. These pods are compatible with Nespresso machines and are available in our Certified Organic Fair Trade Blend and Certified Organic Strong Espresso Blend along with our Australian grown and Organic Decaf blend.

As a small player in the coffee world, we knew that producing a Bun Pod had to be done the right way - fully home compostable .
